4.3.3.6,3.2 After three (3) consecutive lots have complied
with the criteria of 4.3.3.6.3.1, one hundred twenty-five (125)
charge assemblies shall be selected from each lot for test.
The lot shall be rejected if two (2) or more samples are classed
defective.
4.3,4 Inspection Equipment. - Inspection equipment required
to perform the inspections prescribed in this specification is
identified in the Examination (4. 3.2) and Test Method (4.4)
paragraphs herein. See 6.3 for details concerning responsi-
bilities for Inspection design and approval.
4.4 Test Methods and Procedures
*4.4.1 Primer pin push test. - The charge assembly, less
propellant and wad, shall be mounted in an approved fixture
and be subjected to the specified load in the required direction.
Movement of the primer pin shall be detected by an indicator
or other approved measuring system. The test sample shall be
classed defective if it falls to comply with the applicable
requirements. Testing is non-destructive and only accepted
samples shall be-returned to the slot.
*4.4.2 primer pin to charge case resistance test. -
The resistance shall be measure d using a digital readout
ohmmeter that limits the measurement current to a maximum
of ten (10) milliamperes d.c. Any test sample failing to
comply with the applicable requirements shall be classed
defective. Testing is non-destructive and only accepted test
samples shall be returned `to the lot.
*4.4.3 Immersion test. - The charge assembly shall be
completely immersed under water and placed in a vacuum chamber.
All sealed areas shall be clearly visible. The pressure In the
vacuum chamber shall then be reduced to the required pressure
and the charge assembly shall be observed for leakage for the
specified time. Any bubbles coming from within the test sample
shall be considered leakage. Bubbles which are the result of
entrapped air on the exterior surface of the charge assembly
shall not be cause for rejection. The test sample shall be
classed defective if it fails to comply with the applicable
requirement. Disposition of samples shall be in accordance
with 4.3.3.5.
*4.4.4 Non-function tests -The charge assembly shall be
tested for specified requirements using an approved power-
