5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 Preservation and packaging
5.1.1 Level C.-The parts for Mine, Anti-personnel, M18A1
shall be packaged in accordance with Specification MIL-STD-
1169. Separately designated items shall not be packaged
together as a single assembly.
5.2 Packing
5.2.1 Level C.-The parts for Mine, Anti-Personnel, M18A1
shall be packaged in accordance with Specification MIL-STD-1169.
The following additional packing requirements shall apply for
the items specified.
5.2.1.1 Case assembly (dwg. 8800918).-Thirty (30) case
assemblies shall be packed leg-end down in a fiberboard box
with interior half-slotted partitions assembled to form 30
individual cells in 3 by 5 arrangement. A filler pad shall be
inserted in the bottom of the box, between layers, and on the
top layer of cells. The inside dimension of each cell shall
be 8-1/2 by 2-1/16 by 5-1/2 inches deep. The inside
dimensions of the box shall be 25-13/16 by 10-7/8 by 11-3/8
inches deep. The filler pads shall be 25-3/4 by 10-3/4 inches.
The box shall be Style RSC, conforming: to Specification PPP-B-
636, Type CF, Class Domestic, Variety SW, Grade 200. The
partitions and filler pads shall be constructed of the same
fiberboard as the box. Minor changes in dimension to provide
a tight pack are permissible.
Top and bottom flaps of the box shall be sealed by
applying 2-inch wide gummed kraft tape conforming to
Specification PPF-T-45, Type III, Grade B over the intire
length of all seams, with an extension of a minimum of 2
inches onto the end panels, and around all corners of the box.
6. NOTES
6.1 Ordering data.-Procurement documents shall specify
the following:
a. Title, number and date of this specification.
b. Data cards.-Data cards shall be prepared for
each lot in accordance with the information specified in
MIL-STD-1167.
c. Provisions for submission of first article samples.
