First Article Inspection
4.3.1 Submission. - The contractor shall submit a first
article sample (See 6.2b) as designated by the Contracting
Officer. The first article sample shall consist of:
a.
Ten (10) sets of all components
b.
Ten (10) sets of all subassemblies `
c.
Twenty-five (25) fuze assemblies
Included in the first article shall be five (5) items from each ,
cavity used to produce tasted or molded parts and five (5) items
from each die set used to extrude parts. The parts shall be so
identified as to permit the tracing of the item to the cavity or
die set from which it was produced. The first article sample shall
be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2 and 4.3.3.
*4.3.2
Inspections to be Performed. - Assemblies and components
will be subjected by the Government to the examinations and tests
as follows:
a) All components, sub-assemblies and assemblies shall
be inspected in accordance with 4.4.2.1 through 4.4.2.16.
b) Ten (10) curved springs shall be tested for the
hardness requirements in accordance with 4.4.3.1.
c) Ten (10) spring clips shall be tested for the
hardness requirements in accordance with 4.4.3.2.
d) Ten (10) C-weight springs shall be tested for the
spring rate requirements in accordance with 4.5.1.
e) Ten (10) G-weight lock springs shall be tested for
the spring rate requirements in accordance with 4.5.2.
f) Ten (10) slider release lock springs shall be
tested for the spring rate requirements in accordance with 4.5.3.
