3.3 Mild Detonating Fuse (MDF) assembly explosive output
test. The MDF assembly shall be tested for explosive output in
accordance with Test 303 of MIL-STD-331 except as follows:
Output from the end face of a single HMX loaded cup shall produce
a 0.013 inch minimum (min) dent in an aluminum witness plate when
tested as specified in 4.5.8.1.
3.4 Environmental and safety tests.
3.4.1 Jolt. The Safety and Arming (S&A) assembly shall
comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-331, Test No. 101.2,
Procedure II.
3.4.2 Jumble. The S&A assembly shall comply with the
requirements of MIL-STD-331, Test No. 102.1.
3.4.3 Transportation. Vibration.
The S&A assembly shall
comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-331, Test No. 119,
Procedure 2.
3.5 Arming of the S&A assembly. The S&A assembly shall arm
when subjected to the following sequence:
a.
The S&A assembly shall commit-to-arm when tested as
specified in 4.5.17.1.
b.
Following step "a", the micropiston actuator, on
activation, shall enable spring loaded slider and
its explosive trains to the in-line/armed position
as per 4.5.17.2.
3.6 In-line explosive functioning. The armed S&A assembly
shall demonstrate high order functioning through the MDF assembly
and main charge lead explosive trains, as applicable.
3.6.1 MDF train functioning (Dwg. 9328756). Upon
initiation of the M100 detonator, the MDF train explosive
elements shall function high order and cause the specified min.
dent in the aluminum witness plate, at the temperature indicated
when tested in accordance to 4.5.18 and 4.5.18.1.
